Am I allowed to stay away from my homestay overnight or for a few days?

If you are under 18, you must obtain permission from both your school/university and your guardian before staying overnight anywhere outside your homestay for any reason — even if you are staying with your parents or relatives. Staying out without approval may lead to serious consequences.

Please note that the approval process takes time, so make sure to submit your application to the school in advance and obtain the necessary approval. Once your school or university approves your request, they will inform Study Vision directly, and we will then notify your host.

If you are over 18, please make sure to let your host know in advance that you will be out, so they do not worry about you.

You will need to pay the full rent for the period you are away, if you are away for less than 2 weeks. If you will be away for more than 2 weeks, please refer to our answers about holidays.
