How to get started
Study Vision's mission is to make your hosting experience easy and trouble-free. The steps below outline how to begin hosting with us.
Before considering to become a host, you should make sure you meet the following requirements:
Be over 25 years of age
Be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
Be able to provide the student with a private bedroom with a bed, linen, table, chair, lamp, and cupboard space, use of shared living areas such as lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, toilet and bathroom
Possess a valid Working With Children or Police Records Check for all household members over 18. For details on how to apply for a Working With Children Check in your state, please click here.
Have Insurance that will cover the student’s belongings, as well as the host’s home and contents
Have Public Liability Insurance
1. Check your location
To get started, click the below button and fill out our short form to see whether we have students currently going to universities and schools nearby you. The process should only take a few minutes and if successful, you will receive an email with login details to enter your online host portal with us.
2. Create a profile
Once you have received access to your new host portal, follow the instructions to complete your profile.
For Study Vision to assess your homestay, you will need to add the following on your profile:
- Family members, residents and pets at your home
- Bedrooms you will be using for hosting guests
- Photos of guest bedrooms and common areas
- General home details
3. Study Vision's assessment
After completing your profile, you can request an inspection of your place via our online portal. Prior to an inspection, Study Vision will conduct an assessment of your profile to confirm whether your place would be suitable for our guests.
